Have an 2001 Audi A6 (standard) that both the Auxilliary and Condensor fans just stopped working. This happened 4 days after the auxiliary fan was replaced. I have since then replaced the ECT sensor (by the air intake valve) and the Fan Switch (blue sensor all the way at the bottom by the radiator). Checked the standard fuses by the side of the driver’s door and coolant fan fuse (two orange/clear ones) under the steering wheel, which all are functional.

It gets extremely hot and humid here. My concerns above is now causing the A/C to just blow out hot air. I can’t even drive more than 15 miles without getting really soaked even with all the windows down. Have I missed anything out e.G. Fuses, switches or sensors? Please help.

NB//There are also solid colored fuses (they may be relays) under the steering wheel, how can I tell if any of them are bad by just looking at them? If any of pertain to making the fans run again.

Hi Transporter2, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

You need to get the coolant fan control module checked out-see below

Hi Rasmataz,
I replaced the control module to no avail. Supplied the two fans with a separate 12v and they function. Checked all the fuses that I know of (under the driver's steering wheel (attached is what I saw) and by the driver's side door) and they are all good to go. Is there anything else that Iam missing? Maybe on the control module, it's not as easy as taking out the old one, attaching the connectors to the new one (which I did) and all should run well. Thank you for your help.
Brgds,
Vex.

Thank you for all your help on this Rasmataz. Quick question, where would this Afrer Run Coolant Thermo switch be located? Already changed the Coolant temp sensor and the the other sensor that is close to the secondary air pump (all the way bottom right on the passengers side. Might have done it wrong or it may be a different switch I was dealing with. Not sure if its the same thing. Just wanted to find the actual location before I take it in to be electronically tested.

Its a 2.8 and from the picture, confirmed that I found it on that exact point i.E. Right under the rail frame on the driver's side, right infront of the oil filter.
