1995 Audi A6 Transmission leak

I believe that it is possibly a gasket that has gone bad because it just started leaking over the weekend. It is a thick dark brown fluid but to thick to be oil. Will a transmission flush or fluid change more than likely fix this problem. I am getting rid of it in May or June and don't want to drop alot of cash into unless I have to.

If it is a "thick dark brown fluid" you are in big trouble, I don't believe its transmission fluid, it must be something else. If you flush the transmission you will ruin it. Take your finger put it into the fluid and tell me what it smells like, and if you have to taste it, go ahead, make my day.
