Hi, my car was having an engine mount support replaced. When I went to pick it up it wouldn't start. Now they are telling me that the timing belt broke. Since the car wasn't running when this happened, what are the chances of valve or piston damage? How big can the damage be?

Thanks!

The engine does not have to be running for damage to occur, just turning the key is enough to bend valves or damage piston ? untill the engine head has been removed it is impossible to say the extent of the damage but as you can imagine the engine needs a strip down hence it is a costly repair,
