Have an 1999 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro with auto transmission. Suddenly it will not shift at all when driving and appears to be " stuck" in a high gear. The car runs/ idles fine and revs fine when in N or P. What could be wrong?

Your in fail-safe mode, Need to check for codes. Possible electrical connection problem, component failure, sensor failure. If unable to acces codes, tcm is probably bad.
