Went in for 02 replacement now told ECU is bad Please Help

What ECU mean and who said you need to change that?
If you had the check light on and you check and said O2 sensor replace the sensor. If the sensor dosen't work on the exchust they say enviromental issue.
Just change the O2 sensor.
