Hello
i had a airbag light on my dash for the past couple of months and got it checked out, my mechanic reckons that its the belt tensioner on the drivers side. He reckons it could cost between â ¬400-500 to fix it. Is there any cheaper way of fixing the problem? (The car is only worth about â ¬3000) would a second hand part work or would it have to be new from a main dealer?

cheers
anthony

Don't see why the belt tensioner would cause air bag light to come on. I would get a second reckoning

I had a small tip on that side last year. All the the drivers seat and back seat had to come out when the dent was being fixed. No air bags went off when the car hit into the side of me.

Air bage are designed to only go off on front impact.
The reason light is on can be found out by a simple scan of PCM
