Engine overheats after a short drive of less than five km. Put new head gasket on engine. Head went for skimming, but not pressure testing. Car has closed circuit cooling system.

Have cooling system pressure tested. Check level of antifreeze in radiator and reservoir first. Compression test cylinders, then a cylinder leakdown test. Exhaust steam would show bad gasket or cracked head or block.
