I just replaced the starter, and a few weeks later the alternator quit. Now, when I try to jump it, the solenoid won't even click. I'm wondering if the problem is actually the alternator or just a loose connection somewhere?

Hello,

This could be a problem with your battery. Batteries that are marginal tend to fail when the weather changes. Also, when your alternator failed then there was nothing recharging the battery. So with this in mind, can you please take a voltage reading for me across the battery terminals with a Digital Multi-meter[DMM]. If you are unfamiliar with how a DMM works, then here is a link explaining how to use one below:

Please go through the guide, if needed, and report back with your reading and we will go from there, if needed.

Thanks,
Alex
