alternator bolt

My car has lost its alternator bolt and I have no idea how long the bolt is. My question is how long would the replacement bolt need to be?

You will not find one at any hardware store. The solution is way easier than that anyway. You will find a golly-zillion of these at any salvage yard. I would be surprised if they would charge more than a dollar, because they are typically going to go for scrap metal.
