Alternator belt installation issue?

Put new alternator belt on ran for ten minutes then lights on dashboard came on and lost power steering. Do I need to tension the pulley tighter, and if so in what order to I tighten it? Loosen top and bottom bolts first and then adjust or what?

Make sure the belt is aligned correctly on the pulleys. Here are the instructions on how to set up the drive belts. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
