I need to replace the alternator in my car. Has anyone else been in this situation? If so did you buy a new alternator, or refurbished? The price difference is staggering. What's everyone's opinion? New or nothing? Refurbished (with warranty) is fine? Has anyone had their own faulty stock alternator refurbished at a shop on their own? Please help

Thanks for visiting 2CarPros. A quality re manufactured unit will work well and provide a long life. Brands like Denso, Remy or AC Delco are all reputable. I suggest staying away from parts stores house brands. Below is a link to affordable quality units.
