Replaced all door lock actuators because the door lock motors broke. The replacement parts are used or aftermarket parts. Replaced car battery. 2 months later all the windows and moonroof started opening randomly. Replaced batteries in FOBs and the problem continues. It is not because I am accidentally pressing the unlock button to roll the windows down and open the moon roof. Will occur when FOB is just sitting at the table. Has also happened when opening the door to get out of the car. The dealer said they disabled the automatic roll down feature, and it still occurs. Can anyone share what will repair this issue?

Hi,

Do all the windows and sunroof open at the same time? Also, is this something you can cause to happen?

I ask because if you know how to cause it, we can remove one fuse at a time that powers the multiplex network to see if there is one that stops it from happening. I suggest that so we know if there is a short in one of the circuits.

Let me know. Also, when you removed and replaced the door lock actuators, did you use any type of cleaner, lubricant, or anything that could have provided overspray in that specific area? See the list below.

Let me know.

Joe

Hey Joe,
Thank you for your reply. I did not use any cleaners, lubricants or sprays on or around the actuators or doors. The moonroof and windows open at the same time. It is a feature that can be used to cool a hot car before getting in by holding the unlock button on the FOB down for 3 seconds. Newer models can close windows and moonroof by holding down the lock button but mine does not. I had the dealer disable this function specifically but the next day it happened again. I don’t think the FOB will allow me to do this so we can find the fuse. I think it can be done by using the physical key and turning it twice to unlock and holding it. I can look up the steps if necessary.

To me, it sounds like they didn't actually turn off the option. Is there any way you could return the vehicle and have them do it again? If not, then we need to determine if there is a short causing it to happen.

Let me know.

Hi,

Thanks for the update. If they did turn it off, it shouldn't be doing this. If it is off, then we need to determine what is prompting it to happen which will be a bit of a headache LOL, but we'll get through it.

Take care and let me know.
