All the lights and radio work in my car but when I turn key over it does nothing

My car has ran good until today I was driving around and stopped by a friends house left it running cause I had a friend in the car while I was inside my friend turned the key off and locked the doors. When I got ready to leave I turned the keys over just to find out it wont do anything. But all the lights head lights and radio all work just fine. What would make this happen and what can I do to fix this please help I have no one else to help

Hi,

This sounds like a security lock out. Can you scan for any codes to see what it is telling you? Here is a guide that will help explain what is happening. Also, it gives advice from a GM dealer on how to disable the security system.

Does the theft light stay on when trying to start the vehicle? If so that is most likely our issue. We will then need the codes to determine what is causing the lock out.

If you can't pull the codes yourself, most parts stores can do it but clearly the vehicle would need to be there so your only option may be towing it to a shop that can look at it.
