Can someone help this donator? I think his problem is he is using the wrong (different year) trans. and will probably have to either get the old one rebuilt or get the correct (used) trans. But frankly I have no solution other than what I stated above, and I don't think he wants to hear that from me.....Thanks.....Paul
He is getting to the point that he will have everything so buggered up that he will never get this thing running.

Hi,
Both trans seems to be having same problem and I suspect it could be VSS fault, might be PCM is not receiving correct signal or is faulty and not computing correctly.
I have asked a few questions and hope we can work this out well.

To add on to Mr. Low -this is what I know about ECT
1. TPS takes care of the throttle pressure
2. VSS inputs the governor speed
3. Coolanr sensor controls overdrive in a given temperature
2 tranny same condition? I'll go at the wiring and the brain that controls it-
