The check engine light is on and the dealership told me it is a "cam sensor" and that it needs to be repalced. The cost is $200.00. Should I have this done?

Thank-you

I won't run properly if it is bad. It also wont pass emmision inspection.

About $85.00 for the part from an aftermarket supplier. The OEM part is usually more. Also not something I would recommend doing yourself.

Good luck.

Yes, This has to be done, better sooner then later. $200.00 bucks isn't a bad price. You have to take the front of the motor off. Understand, your car will not pass smog if you don't get this done. Plus the car won't run very good eather. Your car could even stall. There was a recall on the cam sensor, you might want to check if your car falls within the recall. If it does, it was stated that the cam sensor could even catch fire.
