98Civic Ex 1.6 2dr hood latch

The spring is old in my hood latch and my dealer said I don't need to replace it. I can never seem to shut it myself and hate going back there just to have my hood shut. Can you please give me a suggestion on how to latch my hood?

You are going back to the dealer to have them assist with closing the hood? Have them show you how to get it shut but don't screw around too much on this. If that hood fails to open properly you are in for a tough problem. Replace the latch, cable or spring as needed. Older/used parts are available and a good choice. Don't let up on this, get it fixed right. The danger of driving while using the backup latch mechanism is a danger.
