97 Windstar VSS Location

I need to replace my Vehicle Speed Sensor on my 97 Windstar 3.8L. I purchased a Chilton manual, but it does not specify where it is located? I need to pull it before I purchase because I don't know if mine is electrical or mechanical?

Depends on weather the speedo is mechanical or electronic. If it is a regular gauge type follow the speedo cable. If it is electronic check out the photos and start looking everywhere a wire connects to the trans.
