97-98' Sentra Air intake// installing performance chip, plz

I needed to know how to disconnect my intake pipe and filter because when I disconnect the outlet from it it dies out. How do I just take it out without the car doin that kuz im tryin to put an after market cold air intake into it. And also I bought a performance chip and where do you install it?

I would buy the book on the car (though you may already have it.) But I would buy the Haynes book and it will probably tell you. Though I don't know because I have never installed something like that.
