Hello out there, I need help!
@125k mi all of a sudden my clutch pedal got really hard to press down. I have to apply steady pressure to the pedal, than it will go to the floor and allow the stick to go into or come out of gear. If I let the pedal all the way up it will get stuck again.
Please advise.

Your jeep has a hydraulic "master" "slave" configuration to disengage the clutch.

It sounds like the piston in the master cylinder or the clutch petal linkage may be binding up. Ensure you have fluid in the master cylinder reservoir (located on the left side of the firewall in the engine compartment). If the piston is binding you should replace the master cylinder.

The piston in the slave cylinder could also be binding and need replacement. The slave cylinder is located in the bell housing of the transmission and requires transmission removal to replace it.

Not a tough job, in fact I replaced the slave cylinder in my '91 Wrangler this weekend in about three hours.

Good luck.
