92 Caravan Front Brakes

Hi: A few months ago I had the rotors and pads replaced on my Caravan. More recently, the front brakes have not been releasing as they should so I had the calibres replaced but still using the same pads which were fine. About a month later (although driven very little) the same problem occured so I pulled the cailiper myself and checked the brakes. The inner pad had actually bent out at the piston toward the rotor on both sides. I compressed the pistons, noting they returned harder than what I would consider normal (I'm a long retired mechanic). Still I installed a new set of pads to try them out (there was very little wear on the pads although the material had begun to separate from the plate on the ends), and bled the front breaks (rear breaks are in excellent condition). Worked great for about two days but now same thing is beginning to happen. I cleaned and lubricated the rails the pads slide on which was the first thing I suspected given the bent pads; didn't help. Also the peddle had become quite hard with very little travel when applying the breaks. The calipers are not factory (NAPA parts), but I have to say, having done a few hundred break jobs in my time, I have never seen two calipers fail in such a short time. BTW. Breaks are not ABS. Any thoughts you may have would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advanced. Mark

If you've cleaned the rails and slides ,I am led to believe that you should replace the brake hoses.sometimes even a visual inspection will not reveal hoses that can collapse internally always replace both sides as they are used equally.Good Luck
