91 Ranger clutch quick disconnect

I'm having trouble with the quick disconnect on my 91 ranger clutch. Any tips on how to get it apart. I have bought the tool for this purpose and still having trouble?

To disconnect mine I had to use two screw drivers to push in the white part then it pops right out for you

I have a 91 ford ranger 5 speed manual trans.3.0L with 143,000 miles.I changed transmissions and cant get the clutch quick diisconnect to go back in. Can any one tell me what im not doing? I know it hase to be simple. Thanks for any help

Make sure both sides are clean and free of debris and dirt. Then make sure the white release ring is on there then they should just push back together you will feel a "pop" when they go together correctly.
