85 truck noise when driving only

1985 Chev truck 350ci - I was having a squealing noise when driving but not at an idle. Thought it was my waterpump as I could see antifreeze in the radiator shrowd - changed the waterpump and truck started and idle fine but when you put it in gear and try and drive get a sqealing groaning sound. Truck seems to run hot as well. Belts only seem to be able to go on pullies one way. And sound seems to come from transmission area of truck. Any ideas what I can check next. Idles nice and smooth 8)?

Have you checked the U-joints on the drive shaft? Drive it a few miles and feel them to see if their warm if they are, the problem is in the u-joint also you can shake them to see if their loose. No play is allowed. Randy
