My back doors have to be unlocked from the front before they will open from the inside. Is that how they are suppose to be or should they open from the inside as long as the child safety switch is not engaged?

Yes, when the Child Safety Locks are engaged it will prevent any person from opening the doors from within the vehicle. Disengage the safety feature and your problem should be resolved.

If problem persists be sure to have it checked out by your local dealer.
