My 2001 F150 automatic tranny with a 5.4L 4WD has 60,000 plus miles. After spinning on snow, the tranny indicator light (overdrive light) is blinking. Throws a bunch of codes and will not drive under load of weight of the truck. I jacked up all 4 wheels and tried the gears. Seems to roll forward with rear wheels when in forward gears in 2WD, 4 wheels when in 4WD, backward when in reverse, and nothing when in neutral. Back up lights come on when in reverse like they should, but just won't pull when off jackstands. I have not replace the TR sensor or the VSS sensor, but am concerned about torque converter problems from the reading I have been doing. What is a good course of action to try first? And how do I tell which tranny I have?

If the od light is blinking, definitely some issues within, check the door plate for the trans code, then look it up in a repair book or it might be in your owners manual(the code that is)

You probably tyried tto rock the car free and ttore up tthe tranny, you should never rock with an auto tran.

Didn't rock the tranny. Know better than that. Happened after an innocent slight fishtail around a corner at very low speed. May be unrelated, but from reading I have been doing, seems likely that it is something inside tranny rather than a sensor ( I have checked the TR sensor and seems to be okay although I did not check it with voltmeter, only put up on jackstands and checked gears and backup lights.
