I have replaced this resistor twice this year. The last one only lasted 2 weeks, and the one before 2 months. This has manual temperature control.

Does anyone have any ideas on what may be causing these to go bad prematurely? Could it be the blower motor even though it runs alright and has no unusual noises or the blower motor switch?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It sounds like you have a blower motor that is pulling to much current, try replacing it, please let me know; Also check the ground ciruit with an ohm meter.
