Hey I was looking at my old truck I havent looked at since I was a kid.

its a 1996 ford f250 with the 351 windsor 5.7l engine.

I took the battery out and I noticed a module by the battery

it says eep. Electronic environmental protection. Has a green flashing light. And has 2 sensors. They are black wedge shaped bout the size of half a playing card each side. They have one wire going to it.

no one seems to have ever saw or seen one. I even asked several ford master techs. Didnt ever see one on a ford.

so anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like a rust protection device that prevents your truck from rotting out and dieing out complete on you lol-I've seen this on an Isuzu truck 91-Blinking greenish light equal to size of LV cheating cards and it stays there for ever till you remove it-B5 disconnect it

Maybe I'm totally wrong and its purpose is to tell you your fenders are falling apart

G'Day Mr 5.

I was thinking the same as uncle Raz, we had similar rust protection devices fitted to a number of Fire fighting trucks that operated around coastal regions when I was in the service, they did work to a degree, so if its not a problem l would leave it alone, as it may offer some extra protection in the long term.

I feel ripped off. None of the firetrucks at our firestation has that!

So you think thats for rust protection. Have no idea why it would be on it tho. Very possible. Has nothing just the two wires and power from the battery. And that flashing light. Very odd thing.

Thansk for the answers!
When will they learn some rasmataz juice will stop the rust asap.

Maybe its a rust accelerator. Cant have them last forever now can we?
