1992 3.3 liter v-6 with 200,392 miles
My wife and I were driving in town, 25-35 mph, and the car just stopped running. There was no sputtering, spitting, back fire, etc, it just stopped running. We coasted to the side of the road and the car would turn over, but not start. When it turns over, it sounds to be turning a little faster than it used to and also sounds to be free turning with little or no resistance. Prior to this, the car ran wonderfully with no problems at all. We have never had any performance issues with this car and this problem has taken us by surprise. There has been no recent service or work done to the car. All the lights work and there is fuel in the tank.

Might be a timing belt/chain, crankshaft position sensor and fuel pump problem

I'll start at the belt/chain its pointing that direction with your description. If it has a distributor open the cap and check if the rotor is turning while cranking over.

This is the distributorless model, I believe they call it the C3. Any suggestions on how to check without tearing it all down? How difficult is the replacement of the timing chain, if that is what it is?
