1991 F-150 trans drops out of gear

Hello, I have a 1991 f150, 2wd, 4.9L6, E4OD, 140k miles. Whenever the vehicle sets 2 or more days it takes approx 10 mins to go into drive, reverse is OK. Does not slip. When hot it drops out and back into gear, it also shifts hard most of the time after warming up. Speedometer works fine, don't know if trans shift is associated with spd sensor or not.

Sounds like there may be a problem internally. If reverse is ok but does that in drive, might want to head to a trans shop and have them look at it, could be something in the valve body
