1995 Other Alfa Romeo Models No oil pressure

I have a 1995 Alfa 155 2.0 twin spark 16v that has no oil pressure and is knocking severly. I have taken the oil pan off and cleaned the pickup tube and made sure the oil pump vains and gears are spinning which they are. I replaced all cleaned parts and put new oil filter and oil in and I still have no pressure. Is there something else that I am missing?

Did you get the no oil pressure by using a mechanical gauge or you 're just guiding yourself with the engine oil light coming on?

No oil pressure could be the oil pump or engine bearrings-also the oil pump might not being driven and not turning-Knocking real bad sounds like engine bearings

Both the oil light and the pressure gauge which is not moving. When I removed the oil pan I turned the engine over with the flywheel and the oil pump gears were moving. The knocking does not have the distinct sound of bearings but more of an older GM diesel engine. New with European vehicles so I am looking for ideas before I have to get ride of the car.
