Alarm light stays on, not flashing as usual

After having my dead battery jumped, the alarm light is no longer flashing as usual. It's staying on constantly. The alarm buttons on my key are locking/unlocking the vehicle, but they are no longer arming/disarming its alarm system. This is a factory installed alarm system and keys. I am the vehicle's original owner and have never had any issues with it.

Alright let's try this if you don't live in California take it it to a auto parts store like auto zone have them scan your car for codes. Let me know the exact code numbers you have. It will be a letter followed by a four digit number.

Thanks--but guess which state I'm in? Yep, California. Can the stores here not do that?

I live in California also they passed a law that the auto parts stores can't read codes anymore or rent the scan tools to read them about five years ago. Do you know anyone that has a little code reader? There only like 20 on amazon for a basic code reader.
