Tire pressure warning on all the time on a 2018 CR-V. After resetting warning, goes back on after driving 20 miles.

Problem started after getting new tires. Warning light went on the next day while driving on expressway. Checked tire pressure (okay).

Had mechanic reset warning light and the same thing happened. While riding on expressway about 20 miles / 30 minutes from home, warning message popped up on display. It is stays on now.

Hi,

The tire pressure monitor sensors each have a battery in them. They are expected to last approximately five years. There is a chance you have a weak battery in one of the wheels or a sensor was damaged when the tires were replaced.

I'm not sure what your mechanic has as far as a scan tool for the TPMS, but that would make things easier if he does.

I can walk around to each wheel, one at a time, and check the tire pressure, reference signal from the sensor, tire temperature, and condition of the battery. Is that something he has done for you?

Let me know. The idea that it was reset and lasted 20 miles leads me to think there is a weak sensor battery. Let me know if that is what was done or if it is something you can have done.

Take care,

Joe

I've been told there are no sensors specifically for the tire pressure but that the monitoring is integrated into the ABS system. Is that true? If so, are you referring to batteries in the ABS systems?

Hi,

I am so sorry. Ugh! A bit embarrassed on my end. You are correct. Most all vehicles use a sensor in the wheel. This one doesn't.

I attached troubleshooting information below for this system. Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

Let me know.

Joe
