Air only comes out front vents, mode will not switch to floor or defrost?

Okay. So, I have both hot and cold air blowing but it will only come out the vents in dash, I switch to defrost and nothing not even the slightest sound. I switch to floor and same thing, no action, no noise, nothing at all. I’m thinking it may be the Mode Door Actuator, also part 2 of a problem, when I change the temperature there is a Gawd awful plastic grinding noise coming from under passenger side dash, almost like the heater farts at me every time I change the temperature, so I’m thinking that this problem might be my blend door starting to strip because of the cheap plastic, but I could be wrong. Please let me know what you can to help, I really appreciate you guys, you all do a great job and are so knowledgeable!

Thanks for saying that, we try to help the best we can. :) You are correct the mode actuator can make that noise and fail to transfer the air flow from the floor/mid and defroster vents. Here is the location of the part so you can change it out. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.
