I used my smoke machine and found smoke coming out of the Felt gasket between the distributor and the lower intake manifold. The gasket was brittle and broke apart when I went to install the new Felt gasket. The leak was still there after the replacement with a new aftermarket Felt gasket/washer. The dealership does not sell just the gasket. It comes with a new distributor. The question is: Do I attempt to find a rubber washer to replace the felt washer in hopes that it will seal the gap to stop air from coming in, or use gasket maker compound in hopes of the same, or? Your help needed. Thanks.
