My air intake hose has gone missing on my car. Is that a big deal?

Hi,

Yes, that needs replaced. I'm surprised it's running without it because there are sensors that will be affected. Also, dirt can be taken directly into the throttle body and cause issues and internal engine wear.

Has the check engine light come on and stayed on while the engine is running?

I assume you are referring to the air intake tube between the air filter box and the throttle body, correct? I found a pic of the air box and circled where the air intake tube would attach. Confirm that is what you are referring to.
