The engine is rebuilt.

Had oil changed at Walmart went from regular oil to synthetic oil.

Walmart replaced the air filter.

Picked up my truck and the service light is on.

Could this be because the air filter is not a Ford air filter?

Could this be because the oil is now synthetic?

Appreciate your thoughts. Thank you.

A real quick visual inspection should be done, especially the mass air flow sensor connector at the air filter housing. Second common thing that I see in this scenario is bugs stuck to the mass air flow sensor element, brakeclean or MAF cleaner spray will fix that issue. If all looks good, have the codes retrieved ( which should be done first) let us know what code/s you retrieve.
