Air conditioning stuck on defrost?

Air conditioning only blowing in the defrost position, won’t allow me to change the air direction. Any cheap hacks to fix this would be great. I’m thinking it’s the actuator hose but I’m not even close to being a mechanic. I didn’t grow up rich, but my dad always had me send the car to the shop growing up versus learning to fix it myself.
Now that our government wants to bleed is dry - money it tight, problem seems small, any helpful experience be much appreciated right now thanks!

That sounds like a failed mode door actuator- Ford 5F9Z19E616GA. Go under the dash on the driver's side and look up, you will see the actuator up toward the top of the heater case. There will be another one at the bottom. You want the top one.
Reach up in and remove the three screws, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the actuator. Reverse the process to install the new one.
