Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com.

It sounds like the blower motor resister is bad. It is not an expensive part. Here are the directions for replacement of the component. It is a somewhat easy job other than having to work under the dash. The attached picture correlate with these directions.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the right closeout/insulator panel.
2. Disconnect the blower motor resistor electrical connector (3).
3. Remove the blower motor resistor mounting screws (2).
4. Remove the blower motor resistor (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the blower motor resistor (1).
2. Install the blower motor resistor mounting screws (2).

Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.M (17 lb in).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Connect the blower motor resistor electrical connector (3).
4. Install the right closeout/insulator panel.

Just too add to it, Chevrolet had issues with the resistors getting too hot and melting the connector also. Chevrolet does sell the resistor harness as well and I would recommend you replace the resistor connector as well when changing out the resistor.
