A/C blowing hot air

When I turn on air conditioning it blows hot air, even when turned to the coolest setting. I noticed that the A/C was not as cold as it should have been, then it didn't blow cold air at all. Checked fuses all good. Took it to a mechanic and he said that something is leaking and would cost $2,000.00 to fix. OMG. Because the dash would have to come off. I think he could be scamming me because I'm a female. Help please.

Hello,

This sounds like your vehicle's Air Conditioning needs to have a Freon recharge. Freon is what makes your air conditioner work. Here is a link below to a guide explaining the process:
