I got the code engine ran for a car that I was buying and the air charge temperature sensor came back. I am wondering what exactly is it and if it is the coolant temperature sensor. I am also wondering if there are any videos out that has this replacement done, because I have looked and cannot find one for the car listed above. I already have the part which is the “ SU176VC “ part from AutoZone.

Hello,

The air charge temperature sensor also known as the intake air temperature (IAT). Is located on the base of the air intake tubing.
This sensor measures the incoming air to the engine to optimize fuel/ignition. It is not the same as the coolant temperature sensor, which measures the coolant temperature in the engine.

In order to replace the IAT you will have to remove the intake tubing.

I have attached the diagrams and replacement procedure below.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
