My A/C and heat work fine but the air will blow out of random vents. The control knobs do nothing. The mode door is operational but the semicircular piece it attaches to is busted. I cannot locate the name of the part to get a replacement.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

I attached a picture of what I believe you are referring to. Items 1 and 3 are the part of the actuator. Part 2 is the door splines which is part of the mode door. Does that help? Do I even have the right part you are referring to?

Let me know.

Joe

Not sure, I'll have to look at it again and get back with you if not the correct part. Thanks for your help!

What I found is is that I need the part that the actuator itself actually attaches to. Where the three screws connect.

Welcome back:

It sounds like the heater box broke. I attached a pic for you to look at. I circled the mode actuator. The part it attached to is called the lower heater duct. I would see if there is a way to fix what you have because it is a nightmare to remove. If you can't, I would suggest finding a used one from a salvage yard.

Let me know if you have questions.
