I had an airbag light that was intermittently on. If I restarted the truck it sometimes went off. It is now on all the time. I had a friend hook up his scan tool and it says no communications. It does communicate and is able to check other parts of the vehicle (engine for example). I checked the fuse and connector at he module located under center console. Fuse good and the connector is clean and secure. The only thing I can see is the lower steering cooler line leaked and some may have dripped on the driver's side air bag sensor/switch. I cannot pull any airbag codes without being able to communicate with the scan tool. Any ideas/help on what I should do next? The driver's side air bad switch/module is $170.00. I do not want to throw parts at it.

Good morning.

Failure to communicate could be an issue with the module itself. If you can communicate with the other systems, that would point to the module.

I would replace nothing at this point until I get another opinion on the system. It may be your buddies scan tool. I would see if a shop or someone else with a scan tool can communicate with the module first.
