Hi, I'm currently experiencing a weird problem with my aftermarket head unit. I have a fully custom audio system. Sometimes, the sound from front and rear speakers just goes half way down, sub-woofers stay on the same level, they are all connected the same way, via RCA from head-unit to the amplifiers. The weird part is that when I give a small 'tap' on the head-unit the sound goes back up for some time. The sounds volume drop are pretty randoms(happen in town and highway) but I noticed that it happens a lot when I'm turning the steering wheel. Could it be a voltage issue, wiring? Thanks

Hello,

This sounds like you probably have an intermittent issue with a bad connection or bad RCA plug connectors. I would double check the RCA plug ends and that they are connected good into the head unit and the amplifiers. Please get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for quick response!
I already double checked every RCA connections, also tried to swap RCA cable without any difference. I pulled out the head-unit multiple time to check connection without any visible issues. There is 6 RCA cables: 2 for front speakers, 2 for rear speakers and 2 for sub-woofers. The issue happens on 2 front and 2 rear but not on the 2 sub-woofers. Initially I thought it was the amplifier since the 4 speakers aren't amplified by the same amplifier than the 2 sub-woofers but if I plug the speakers amplifier input in the sub-woofer amplifier output, the issue is gone. So I don't think it's amplifier/RCA related issue.

Hello again,

Do you have a single 4 channel amplifier for the 4 speakers are do you have 2 2 channel amplifiers, 1 for the front and 1 for the rear speakers?

Thanks,
Alex

A single 4 channels amplifier, but like I said, it the sources doesn't come from the headunit, there's no issue.
