2006 rainier adjustable brake and gas pedals problems. Pedals keep moving to the highest position and stops there. The relay is held active and will drain the battery dead in a day or two. Just replaced the pedal position sensor. $50 and no fix. If I unplug the wire harness under the drivers seat it stops draining the battery. But this is a pain. If the harness is left unplugged for a minute or so the pedals go up and down fine. But when you plug the harness back in the pedals move to the far up position. The little relay under dash gets a little warm. This is where the Constance draw on the battery comes from. The pedals don't move up and down with the harness plug in. It has position 1 and position 2 on the door also. Something is keeping the motor that moves them up and down to be held on. The pedals are up as far as they can go, but the relay is still in the moving up direction.

Try replacing the relay first if it still does it it will have to be scanned for codes to find out what's wrong

I was wondering if that could be the problem. But the relay works fine when unplugged. Could there be something wrong with it if it works fine when the harness is unplugged under driver seat? Maybe a bad circuit inside the relay? And thank you for your response.

Well the easiest way is to try replacing the relay with a like relay. But I think you have another problem like either a shorted module or wiring etc. That is why I said to get it scanned.
