Alarm will not disarm

Five cylinder, front wheel drive, automatic with 170,000 miles.
I have had this car for five years. It has a factory alarm system. There is no key-less entry. I have always used to key on the driver's side door to disarm it. But now it will not shut off. I cannot even start it. What can I do? I have already spent over a $1,000.00 on everything else and now this. Can you please help me? Thank you.

Hi Lauraliee,

This happens when the door lock actuator goes out which will make the car think it is being stolen. You will need to replace the lock actuator. Here is a guide to help you get started by removing the panel:

This post is so right. I had this problem paid the dealer $340.00 to replace a $80.00 part! DOH
