Periodicaly the ABS light comes on when the vehicle is started and will remain on as long as the engine stays on. The next time it is started it may very well NOT go on.

I have plugged in a code reader when both the lights were on or off and it shows as no error codes.

We have had some trouble with the ignition and key but have used graphite and a key change and it has helped correct the sticking key issue in the ignition.

I am wondering if the ignition may be part of the electrical problem with the light?

I don't think so. If you are half way mechanical, try unplugging each of the abs sensors on wheels (wheel sensors) and see if they have the same reading when you test it with an ohm meter. They should all be in close proximity. You might find one of them to be out line and failing. That is a common problem with the ABS system. Try that and see if you can resolve it.
