1993 Acura Legend 250000 miles

An acura legend I'm considering buying mechanically is sound but it will run hot and the seller does not know why? Any suggestions as to why? Thanks.

Hi mstamik,

For an engine to run hot, there are many possibilities :
1. Faulty thermostat.
2. Cooling fans not working or weak
3. Radiator or water passages clogged.
4. Bad head gasket.
5. Insufficient coolant, might be due to leaking or a bad head gasket
6. Faulty water pump.

You need to verify what is causing it by doing tests and visual inspections.
