1987 Acura Legend broken door

Hello, my passenger side door broke when my friend closed it. Something snapped and the latch was catching. So I tried to close it by locking the door, and it worked. But now when I try to unlock it the lock goes up but the door won't open. So any ideas on how to open the door? Thanks Ed.

Hi Ed,

You would have to find a means of removing the door panel to open the door. Most probably the door opener of the latch is faulty or has been dislodged. With door closed, gaining access to the door latch is not easy.

You can try removing the door glass moulding to gain access to the door latch opener from the door glass area.
