The car idles low and there is also a loud noise that seems to be an exhaust leak but once it goes past 3500 rpm it goes away and if I drive it it goes away after like a minute of driving. Then just today the engine light came up. Would the exhaust leak cause the engine light and low idle? Or is it more than that?

Hi OV928,

Yes, exhaust leaks can cause the CEL to come on however you need to retrieve the trouble code to know if that is the problem.

Low idling is usually due to dirty throttle body and IAC valve. Get them cleanedand readjusting the idling speed should solve the problem.
