1990 Acura Integra reving

I have a 1990 Integra with a 1.8 liter engine. The problem is that when I turn it on it reves up and down from the idle to 3 to 4 grand then it holds there for like 10 min then it just goes up and down after a while. Dont know what to check.

Hi loganhatch,

The cold start fast idle valve, throttle body and EACV are the 3 items you need to check.

1. Fast idle valve most probably has its internal valve worked loose by itself due to a bad O ring.

2. Throttle body might be stuck in open position due to debris from a bad air filter.

3. The EAVC might be stuck in open position due to internal fault.
