I want to know if replacing an oil pan myself is plausible and if so how is it done. Thank you

Not a very difficult job but quite messy if you don't do it properly.
1. Drain wngine oil.
2. Remove any components in the way of the oil sump.
3. Remove oil sump holding bolts and nuts.
4. Remove oil sump, if sump is stuck, use wood block and hammer to loosen.
5. Wipe off oil on base before installation. Apply sealant to curved areas of gasket before installation.
